A Pirate's Life for Me: A Whimsical Adventure at the St. Augustine Pirate Fest February 2- 4, 2024

Ahoy there, Mateys! I'm here to tell you all about my whimsical adventure at the St. Augustine Pirate Fest. It was a weekend full of fun, excitement, and swashbuckling good times. And if you're looking for a family-friendly event that's sure to please everyone, I highly recommend renting an Escape Hatch RV and heading down to St. Augustine for the next Pirate Fest.

Day 1: Arriving in St. Augustine

We arrived in St. Augustine on a Friday afternoon and checked into our Escape Hatch RV rental at the St. Augustine RV Resort. The RV was perfect for our family - spacious and comfortable, with everything we needed for a weekend of pirate fun.

After settling in, we headed into the historic district to check out all the pirate festivities. There were pirates everywhere! They were walking the streets, performing in shows, and even selling pirate merchandise. We even saw a few parrots sitting on people's shoulders.

We spent the afternoon exploring the district and taking in all the sights and sounds. We visited the Pirate & Treasure Museum, learned about pirate history at the Old Fort, and even took a pirate-themed trolley tour.

That evening, we headed back to our RV for dinner and then headed back to the festival grounds for the pirate parade. The parade was amazing! There were floats, marching bands, and of course, lots of pirates. We even got to catch some beads and candy from the floats.

After the parade, we watched the sunset over the water from the deck of a pirate ship. It was a beautiful sight. Later we got the kids desert from one of the food trucks.

Day 2: The Pirate Fest Begins!

On Saturday morning, we woke up early and headed to the Pirate Fest grounds. The festival was even more amazing than we had imagined. There were pirate ships, pirate encampments, and pirate entertainment galore.

We spent the day exploring the festival grounds and participating in all the pirate activities. We threw darts at barrels, walked the plank, and even had our faces painted like pirates. We also saw some amazing pirate performances, including a sword fight show and a mermaid show.

One of the highlights of the day was the pirate treasure hunt. We followed a map around the festival grounds in search of buried treasure. We had to solve puzzles and answer riddles along the way. It was so much fun! After the treasure hunt, we headed back to The Escape Hatch RV for a quick break. Then, we were back at the festival grounds for more fun. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at one of the many food vendors and found a place where we watched a pirate fireworks show. The fireworks show was incredible! It was the perfect way to end our pirate adventure.

Day 3: Saying Goodbye to St. Augustine

On Sunday morning, it was time to say goodbye to St. Augustine and the Pirate Fest. We were sad to leave, but we had made so many wonderful memories. And we knew that we would definitely do it again.
